Repêchage Hosts its Annual Network Power Lunch - Champagne Brunch

On December 8, 2014, in Secaucus, NJ, beauty industry professionals, members of the press, and medical experts were amongst those in attendance for the annual Repêchage Network Power Lunch - Champagne Brunch.

Notable guests, including Dr. Joel Gerson, author of Milady's Standard Textbook for Professional Estheticians and Milady's Standard Fundamentals for Estheticians; Anthony Fiore, owner of Capri Cosmetology Learning Centers in New York; Lois Christie, president of Intercoiffure America/Canada; Gordon Miller, senior director digital at American Salon and attendees from Canada, Trinidad & Tobago, Korea, Romania and India joined Lydia Sarfati at the spa business event.

Upon arrival, guests were greeted with mimosas and champagne, followed by a fabulous brunch spread. Attendees were granted event-only promotions, including Repêchage holiday gift sets and new product launches.

Following food and shopping was a warm welcome by Repêchage CEO and founder Lydia Sarfati, who introduced the first keynote speaker, Dr. Samuel Shatkin, for his presentation “Esthetics. How It Changed My Practice.” Owner of Aesthetic Associates Centre for Plastic Surgery and Advanced Skin Care, Dr. Shatkin is a prominent plastic surgeon in the Buffalo, NY area.

During his presentation, Dr. Shatkin shared how his medical practice has grown by incorporating esthetics, and revealed that he has been able to achieve better results for his patients by providing proper skincare before and after medical procedures.

Lydia Sarfati was next onstage, for a presentation on “The Gold Standard of Wax.” Sarfati presented best practices for salon and spas when it comes to waxing, and introduced the first waxing product to be developed by Repêchage: SeaSmooth Artisan Seaweed Wax.

Waxing is one of the most popular methods of hair removal today, but as Sarfati discussed in her presentation, not enough attention is being paid to the skin during the service.

“From personal experience, I’ve had times where my waxing experiences were simply unpleasant—post wax redness, bumps, irritation and swelling were all something I was experiencing, and I know clients are as well,” Sarfati said. “The purpose of Repêchage SeaSmooth Artisan Seaweed Wax is to provide a wax that will not only remove hair, but alleviate these side effects.”

The key ingredients in the soft, creamy wax include select seaweeds that deliver vitamins, minerals and trace elements for unparalleled smoothness; zinc oxide, which provides natural antimicrobial action; and aloe vera to help to relieve visible irritation. Guests witnessed Sarfati demonstrate how to perform the artisan leg waxing experience for clients.

Next, Dori Soukup, president and CEO at InSPAration Management took the stage with ”Success in 2015,” where she discussed tactics and systems to help boost spa profits. Soukup highlighted the four revenue drivers, including economical marketing strategies, building a high performance team, increasing retail sales and enhancing financial health.

To close, Sarfati presented "2015 Beauty & Spa Trends.” From her experience traveling around the globe partaking in salon events, tradeshows and research, Sarfati presented the various trends she foresees in the beauty industry for 2015.
