For City of Hope's National Professional Salon Industry 2009 Spirit of Life Dinner & Masquerade Ball honoring Pureology's Cheryl and Jim Markham, American Salon publisher and event co-chair Brett Vinovich asked some of the top names in the beauty industry to design and create masks to be auctioned off at the gala. The event, hosted by actress Debi Mazar, features a theme of "Create Beauty. Unmask Hope." and will take place on July 20, 2009, at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The proceeds from the mask silent auction will go directly to City of Hope, an independent biomedical research, treatment and education institution that's leading the fight to conquer cancer, diabetes, HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening diseases.
