In Studio: Parlez-Vous Hue? Bridal Nail Trends

Wave good-bye to neutral nails and say hello to spring’s freshest color combos.

Brides typically tend to go the traditional route with their mani/pedi, opting to keep it as neutral as possible or sticking with a matchy-matchy look. There’s a reason why polishes like Essie Ballet Slippers, Mademoiselle and Vanity Fairest have become a few of the brand’s most iconic shades. But trending this season are the prettiest twosomes that will convert even the most color-shy.

“For spring, what I’m seeing more and more of on hands are sheer lavenders, pinky corals and pale pinks while on toes, it’s pops of color in orangey reds and deep pinks,” says Gino Trunzo, director of education for Essie. Think pretty and sophisticated, not loud and brash. The point is to make a quiet statement with nails in sheer, solid hints of color for a modern look. “It creates a beautiful effect when lacquered tips in a soft, feminine wash are paired with bright, vibrant toes peeking out from under the bride’s dress when she’s walking down the aisle.”

Trunzo suggests a sheer lilac for hands, like Hubby for Dessert, and a red-orange for toes, like Happy Wife Happy Life, both from the Essie Bridal 2015 Collection. ✂
