Ted Gibson Salon will be doing its part to save the planet this weekend when it hosts the 3rd-annual Ted Gibson Salon Cut-A-Thon on Sunday, September 21 from 10am to 5pm. The event will feature deeply discounted $50 cuts (usually $95+) and color services from $75-$100 (normally $100-$400) at the exclusive salon. Cuts by Gibson himself, who has made a name for himself with clients like Angelina Jolie and Anne Hathaway, will be reduced to just $300, down from $950 (the country's most expensive cut). All proceeds will go to Carbon Zero, which will plant trees to offset carbon emissions from the salon and product company. Cuts To date, Ted Gibson Salon has raised $10,000 for the environmental organization.

In a time when global warming is a constant threat, and in an industry that gives off a lot of waste, it's essential for salons across the country to follow Gibson's example and host similar events that will erase their own carbon footprints.
