Texas Spa Owner Given Women in Business Champion Award

Edna Posada

Edna Posada, owner of Spa La Posada in McAllen, Texas, was honored with the U.S. Small Business Association Women in Business Champion Award on April 29. This award is given to individuals who promote the efforts of women in business from entrepreneurship to empowerment to education.

Posada owns and operates Merle Norman Studios and three Spa La Posada locations in southern Texas. Since opening her first spa more than 22 years ago, Posada has participated on several boards, including the Rio Grande Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, which allowed her to focus on issues affecting women entering the business world.

“I believe that all women that are determined to grow their career or business deserve a chance at success,” said Posada. “I made it a goal of mine to pass along my knowledge and support to other women who are starting a business or need some business advice.”
