Goatees are the hottest thing going in facial hair these days. In fact, Leonardo DiCaprio, Taye Diggs, Jamie Foxx, Keenan Ivory Wayans—even Diddy—were all sporting them in People's most recent "Sexiest Man Alive" issue. Here, David Guerin, global artistic director for Oster Professional Products, provides tips on how to achieve the sexy look.

GROW HAIR FOR AT LEAST FOUR DAYS. Then cut out the outline of the goatee with a razor, but don't use shaving cream so you can see exactly where to cut. After, lather with shaving cream and cut out all unwanted hair.

INVEST IN A SMALL TRIMMER. The Oster O Baby (pictured) is a good one to try, according to Guerin. It's small, good for precise trimming and comes with attachments. Use the trimmer to run over the goatee every four or five days to keep it neat.

DECIDE HOW OFTEN TO SHAVE. Clients with thick facial hair can skip shaving for a couple of days and the goatee will still be noticeable. But guys with thinner facial hair will have to shave around the goatee more often in order to keep it defined.
