I recently returned from Lisbon, Portugal, renowned for its fashion and art scenes, where I witnessed the Wella Professionals International TrendVision Awards (ITVA) 2018. While the event never disappoints, this year Wella Professionals upped the ante, hosting ITVA at the stunning Pátio da Galé and launching the ITVA Creative Retreat Experience, a new format focused on elevating and celebrating the artists and the craft, enabling them to take creative excellence to the next level.
The three-day event for the 76 national finalists from 43 countries—which was broadcast live across Wella Professionals’ social channels, reaching more than 15 million hairdressers, emerging influencers and the next generation of industry shapers—was packed with hands-on, inspirational experiences including mentorship from industry notables, such as Darren Ambrose, Sonya Dove, Akin Konizi and Cyrill Brune; motivation from Wella Professionals Creative Director, Care & Styling and ghd Fashion Week Ambassador Eugene Souleiman, who shared his fave fashion week looks; inspiration from Coty Professional Beauty Global Ambassador Rossano Ferretti; demos on the power of social media from celebrity hairstylist Sarah Potempa; colorful looks from Wella Professionals Global Color Ambassador Andreas Kurkowitz; and more. The icing on the cake came on Day Three, when 16 mentors selected the winners:
