Wella-UNICEF Making Waves Auction Underway

The Wella-UNICEF Making Waves auction kicked off on May 15 via the International Wella Professionals Facebook page. The charity auction features goods donated from renowned fashion designers such as Peter Som and Missoni as well as items donated by Wella Professional ambassadors and creative teams. Proceeds from the auction go to providing hairdressing training to disadvantaged youth in Brazil by building training centers.

Wella Professionals partnered with UNICEF in late-2010 and with their combined efforts they have been able to build and equip a training center in Recife, a poverty stricken area in Brazil, which hairdressers visited to mentor students.

With continued fundraising efforts, Wella-UNICEF Making Waves hopes to develop more training centers in other countries with suffering areas. To place a bid, visit www.facebook.com/wellainternational. —Aja Edwards
