The temperature wasn't the only thing heating up in New York this spring. After the opening day of IBS on April 17, the hottest party of the season took place at Crobar, where over 1,400 of the beauty industry's finest gathered to cheer, applaud, schmooze and then dance the night away at the fifth annual Stylist Choice Awards. Sponsored by Behindthechair.com, the industry's largest online community for beauty pros, the event celebrated the best in beauty products and services and featured a virtual "Who's Who" of beauty industry artists and leaders from such companies as Farouk, Goldwell, Joico/ISO, Kenra, Paul Mitchell, Redken, Shortcuts, Takara Belmont, TIGI and many more.

For the fifth straight year, Redken Fifth Avenue took home the top honors as Best Overall Professional Products Company, and Robert Cromeans, artistic director of John Paul Mitchell Systems, won for Favorite Platform Artist. Other awards went to a broad cross-section of manufacturers, from first-time winners like PureOlogy Hydrate to such perennial favorites as Joico K-Pak (Deep or Restorative Conditioner).
