Wolk Morais Debuts Second Collection with Paul Mitchell

On November 9, 2015, lauded fashion designers Brian Wolk and Claude Morais will premiere COLLECTION 2 at the Historic French Market Place in West Hollywood. This marks the designers’ second showing of their eponymous label since their arrival in Los Angeles from their native New York, where they founded and created the cult brand Ruffian.

This new WOLK MORAIS collection – which is designed, sourced, and manufactured in Los Angeles – draws inspiration from various visual and social canons including Beatnik coffee-shop culture and the legendary Café Society. Working once again with stylist Elizabeth Stewart, the designers will continue to illustrate California-centric stories in this poetic collection.

The Wolk Morais label focuses on the concept of season-less dressing, hence the designers’ decision to number their collections rather than adhering to classic conventions. This gives the designers the ability to include fabrications and silhouettes that are defined by their integrity and usefulness rather than a retail delivery window.

Mr. Wolk and Mr. Morais – whose careers have spanned the globe working in fashion capitols including Paris, Tokyo, and New York – feel passionately about Los Angeles' current creative climate and are honored to make it the home for their Wolk Morais label.

Partners for the November 9th event include l.a. Eyeworks, Samsung, whose Galaxy Note5 smartphones were used by the designers to conceive, research and sketch the new collection, PAOM (Print All Over Me) with whom Mr. Wolk and Mr. Morais have created a custom print which will be available the day of the show at PAOM.com, iconic California locks by the Paul Mitchell team, MAC Cosmetics who will be creating fresh youthful make-up looks on the runway, and Freixenet and Societe Perrier who helped to create the Café Society Mise-en-scène at the historic French Market Place.
