Parke & Ronen Bring '80s Beach Hair to New York City

The boys are turning it out! We popped into Parke & Ronen’s Spring/Summer 2019 show and got to see some of the hottest beachwear trends. Of course, the hair was especially important to us and it did not disappoint.

The Aveda-based team was led by Jon-Michael Hall, with grooming support from Fawn Monique and Marine Kallman. Hair was styled with a casually refined ’80s Cali vibe—naturally textured and flowy, which, when paired with the swimsuits, made it easy to imagine the West Coast, the feeling of sunshine, sound of the ocean and breeze through your hair.

Actors, models and influencers alike were front-row. Naturally, we had to know where they get their hair done.

"Oh my gosh, thank you for asking!" said Eric Rutherford (right), the silver-locked modeling legend. He trusts Jay Braff of Spoke & Weal with his hair.

Actor Andrew Rannells (left), of HBO’s Girls and Broadway’s revival of The Boys in the Band gets his hair cut from a guy named George at a small spot on the corner of 24th and 9th here in New York City.

Ty-Ron Mayes, Tyra Banks’ Fashion Consultant and NY Stylist for America’s Next Top Model, impressively does his own hair.

Influencer power couple, Paul Brogna and Carlos Brandt both get their hair cut by Mike at Haircrafters Barber Shop in Chelsea.

Director of 5 Eleven Magazine, Andy Duran’s magical blue hair was provided by Freelance Hairstylist Jhonatan Rendon.
