Sam Villa Creates A Signature Series 7” Dry Cutting Swivel Shear to Launch in May

The industry asked and Sam Villa delivered.  “We were getting inquiries at shows and on social media about developing a 7” dry cutting swivel shear.  There was a need in the market for a swivel shear with a longer blade and we wanted to fill that need for hairdressers,” says Sam Villa, Founding Partner of Sam Villa and Redken Education Artistic Director.  As with all Sam Villa Signature Series Shears, the 7” Dry Cutting Swivel Shear is made of 100% Japanese molybdenum alloy that is compression-forged for strength and durability.

“The cutting stability created by the reinforced blade on our dry cutting shear makes it perfect for shear over comb, dry cutting, compressed/condensed cutting, or anything else that requires more leverage.  Introducing a version with the swivel handle allows for more dynamic cutting positions while relieving stress on the body,” says Andrew Carruthers, Director of Education for Sam Villa.

Features and Benefits
Crane Handle: Designed for ergonomic comfort and precision control.  Keeps elbow in a downward position versus an opposing grip shear that forces elbow into a raised stressful position.
Forward Set Thumb: Puts the hand in a natural, neutral position for reduced repetitive wrist and shoulder strain
Handcrafted Convex Blades: Start out sharper and hold edge longer than typical machine-beveled blades.
Leaf Spring Tension System: Extends the edge life of the shear.
Polymer Lining in Pivot Point: Eliminates metal on metal grinding extending the life of the shear.
Added Flexibility: Keeps the wrist straight and the elbow down in all cutting positions.

Comfort and Control: Steering of the blades is done with the index and middle finger instead of the entire body.
