International Dermal Institute and Dermalogica Announce New Dermalogica Learning Loft in Minneapolis

The International Dermal Institute, LLC (IDI, dermalinstitute.com) and Dermalogica, LLC (Dermalogica, dermalogica.com) announce a new Minneapolis, MN location for skin care professionals, including spa and salon business owners and postgraduate students enhancing their skills as professional skin therapists. Set in Minneapolis’s historic warehouse district, the new Dermalogica Learning Loft replaces the former IDI facility which opened in 2005. Serving approximately 3,500 students per year, the Learning Loft will continue to offer all Dermalogica and IDI curriculum, as well as host undergraduate students, while offering several new technological, operational, and educational additions.

The 1,600 square foot space is comprised of an open concept floorplan whose set up has been designed to accommodate a wider education outreach. A multi-use classroom utilizes the most current technology, offering open-access student WiFi, downloadable student workbooks, and twin interactive touchscreen whiteboards and smart projectors, allowing students to receive emailed copies of board notes. iPads will be available for automated student check-in and registration for future classes.

A new interactive store area with dedicated SkinBar offers product sampling and demonstration, allowing Dermalogica accounts to participate in retail-building training in a live, real-time environment. A wet-chalk area encourages students to express themselves creatively as they share their class takeaway and learning experience.

The new space will also serve as a venue for the brand’s acclaimed Guest Speaker Events, where experts from IDI and the industry at large share their insights and professional expertise, as well as be available for blogger events, account meetings, and national account hub training.

Class offerings range from hands-on treatment training to ingredient technology and business-building tips from both Dermalogica and IDI curriculum, with special monthly classes for undergraduate students. The Dermalogica Learning Loft is located at 800 Washington Avenue North, Suite 206, Minneapolis, MN 55401. Visit www.education.dermalogica.com to find classes or learn more.

About The International Dermal Institute: For 30 years, The International Dermal Institute (IDI) has pushed the skin care industry envelope to its limits, redefining professional excellence and offering skin therapists a unique opportunity to reach their personal best in the process. IDI offers the most challenging and rewarding postgraduate skin and body therapy curriculum available anywhere today with 38 postgraduate training centers worldwide — 18 of which are located in the US — and 45 additional affiliates.

About Dermalogica: Dermalogica revolutionized the skin care industry when it emerged into the marketplace in 1986 with innovative formulations, which excluded common irritants, including SD alcohol, lanolin, mineral oil and artificial colors and fragrances. Jane Wurwand developed the products to better support the advanced curriculum she had developed a few years earlier for The International Dermal Institute, which she also founded. Wurwand led the company’s growth from an idea to the world’s most-requested professional skin care brand.

Dermalogica today is sold in more than 80 countries worldwide. Dermalogica products are available in select skin treatment centers on the recommendation of a qualified professional skin therapist in addition to the brand’s concept spaces located around the world and online at Dermalogica.com. Dermalogica is made in the USA, with its global operations based in Carson, just south of Los Angeles. To learn more about Dermalogica, please visit www.dermalogica.com.
