How-To: Iridescent Opal

An opal’s shifting display of iridescent color was the inspiration behind the Organized Chaos technique developed by Leslie Cook at Tangles Salon in Wichita Falls, KS. “I discovered that iridescence is created by light waves that interfere with one another,” says Cook, who devised a formula that creates the appearance of iridescence with constructive placements of light, dark, bright and pastel colors.
