Best of Masters: Laini Reeves

Laini Reeves began cutting hair at sixteen, she received the L’Oreal Trophy at seventeen, and ever since she has dedicated her life to the mastery of hair styling and cutting. She is recognized in the industry for her unequivocal technical expertise, her adoration of natural and organic products, and her prowess at both extreme and fantastical looks as well as the elegant and effortless.

What began as necessity quickly translated into passion as Laini sculpted a hairstyling career out of Birmingham, England, and into London. Her talent caught the eye of hairdressing firm Toni and Guy, where she spent a decade teaching, training, and eventually creative directing the company into global recognition. Once in California, she launched her career into the reputation it has today in the fashion and celebrity worlds. Laini’s repertoire spans the Paris, Milan, and New York fashion shows to editorial landscapes of constructed beauty and celebrated red carpet moments.

Her faithful clientele includes beauty sirens Kate Bosworth, Emily Blunt, Michelle Williams, and Ellen DeGeneres. Laini is the honored recipient of the British Hairdresser Award.

Winn Claybaugh says, “Laini is not only a successful and powerful woman in the beauty industry (currently Ellen's personal hairdresser ... check out the credits on Ellen's show!) but she is also a lovely friend. If I had a microphone on her during our many dinners together, you would be impressed every single time!”
