Artist Stories: Stephen Moody

Welcome to the first of many daily blogs being launched this month here at americansalon.com. Authored by a roster of amazingly talented guest contributors as well as our own editorial staff (including our Editor-in-Chief Marianne Dougherty), our daily blogs aspire to inform, inspire, educate and engage.

I will be blogging every Monday under the title Artist Stories, where I’ll share a series of inspiring short video conversations with a “who's who” of industry artists, educators and icons.

Today, we are pleased to share our first Artist Story: an excerpt from a conversation we recently had with Stephen Moody, global education dean of Wella Salon Professionals.  Stephen is one of the most revered and recognized educators I know, a man who has spent his entire life around hairdressers and who was, as you will hear, born into the industry.

At American Salon, we believe in the power of stories to capture our imaginations, inspire and educate.  The stories we have long shared are a part of the larger history and collective wisdom on our profession—and part of the larger foundation of knowledge from which success is born. Stay tuned to americansalon.com and our soon-to-be-redesigned print editions as we begin to expand the number of stories we share with our community, all as part of our longstanding efforts to provide you with the information and resources needed to have the best business, career and/or life possible.

A sampling of upcoming Artist Stories include: Winn Claybaugh, Sonya Dove, Frank Gambuzza, Ted Gibson, Mark Hayes, Michael Levine, Douglas McCoy, Ann Mincey, Ruth Roche, Diana Schmidtke, Fabio Sementilli, Candy Shaw and many more.

NOTE: To add a little punch to our blog kick off, new Artist Stories will be appearing every day this week, before shifting to a weekly release schedule beginning Monday, May 11.

Daily guest bloggers are also launching this week and will include insights from:  Winn Claybaugh, Neil Ducoff, Hairbrained.me, John Harms, Nina Kovner, Michael Levine, Douglas McCoy, Patrick McIvor, Beth Minardi, Charlie Price, Ruth Roche, Sam Villa, Ivan Zoot and some surprises to come!

Until next time,

Gordon
