Festive Hair Tips from Jenny Cho

Get your hair holiday party ready with pro tips, tricks and style from Jenny Cho, celebrity hairstylist and R+Co collective member.

"You don’t need to have an elaborate updo as an excuse to wear hair accessories. Hair texture can be enough! Classics side part waves, half up half down, sleek center part or wavy or curly, the list goes on. You can be festive with headbands or clips and even go the minimalist route with beautiful gold or tortoise shell combs, barrettes, and even ribbons!” says Cho.

Pro Tips:

Some classic hair looks that are a great companion to hair accessories:

  1. Classic pulled back mid or low buns
  2. Loose waves
  3. 70’s Disco curls
  4. Bohemian / down with straight or relaxed waves
  5. Polished updo
  6. Front hairline braid or twist and adding rings or tinsel

You want a strong hairspray / texture spray that can keep accessories anchored along with strong bobby pins / U shape pins. Cho says she use the R+Co BLEU Cult Classic Flexible Hairspray ($57) and R+Co BALLOON Dry Volume Spray ($36). For loose waves or relaxed waves, Cho says she recommends R+Co VELVET CURTAIN Cotton Touch Texture Balm ($34).

A tail comb is also helpful if you have to tease the roots to help keep accessories in place.
