On Tuesday night, I attended the Matrix Design Pulse styling event at Mizu New York. Matrix Artistic Director Ammon Carver showed off his skills as a stylist by using products from the Design Pulse line, which launched last year. "While the packaging has a very 'downtown' vibe, these products are perfect for adding texture and creativity to any client's style," Carver told the crowd of editors and salon owners. He used Thermo Glide Express Blowout Creme on several of the models to create a smooth and healthy finish and Go Big Extra Strong Hold Mousse to add volume to those with finer hair. When working on the male model, Carver explained that the number-one complaint he hears from his male clients is that the product they apply in the morning breaks down throughout the day. His solution? Design Pulse's new star product: Beach Clay. After Carver styled each model, he encouraged the audience to touch the hair and play with the products.
