Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2014 NYC: Betsey Johnson

Due to her staple mood-boosting colors and over the top silhouettes, it’s no wonder Betsey Johnson named her Spring 2014 collection, “Betsey Johnson Once a Day”. For the hair, Redken brand ambassador and owner of Cutler/Redken Salons Rodney Cutler custom-made cotton candy wigs in Betsey’s favorite color. “We’re doing a ‘80s curl paired with a Betsey Johnson bang,” he said. Danielle Candido, lead nail artist for Morgan Taylor, Danielle Candido used Morgan Taylor lacquer for the show. Playing off of the other beauty looks for this show, Candido used Morgan Taylor Could Have Foiled Me, a metallic silver shade, and Sweetest Thing, a pink glitter. “You know how Betsey loves glitter,” Candido said. As for the makeup, celebrity makeup artist Sarah Lucero for Stila Cosmetics said “naturally we had a little fun, sending models down the runway with dramatic lashes and metallic silver shadow – and lips that match!” Lucero said. For the face, we created moisturized healthy skin with Stila Stay All Day Foundation and Concealer, then she used Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow in Matallic Lavender, Stila Major Major Lash Mascara and Stila  Stay All Day Waterproof Brow Gel. The checks were swept with Stila Convertible Color in Sweet Pea and the lips were generously given Stila Shadow in Opal and Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Triggerfish (formulated for eyes). To create the luminous skin, Katrina Lantz from Intraceuticals gave the model’s mini facials using Intraceuticals 3 Step Hyaluronic. Betsey describes the treatment as “very luxurious and makes your skin look more alive and clear.” She even called backstage “the Betsey Johnson show spa.”
