3 Tips for Glowing Skin in the Winter

Esthetician and skincare expert Melissa Annunziata from Oasis Day Spa in New York shares 3 tips for keeping skin radiant throughout the cold and dry months.

  1. Remove. That. Makeup.

Thoroughly cleansing the skin is crucial to prevent clogged pores and breakouts. Properly removing makeup helps maintain a healthy skin barrier and supports skin renewal overnight.

Follow up with serum and moisturizer to lock in hydration for overnight recovery, and don’t forget an eye cream to brighten and soothe tired eyes.

  2. Hydrate and Nourish with Facials.

Winter is the ideal time to incorporate facials into your skincare routine if you are not doing so already. Facials help prepare the skin for extreme temperature changes and provide deeper levels of hydration and nourishment than at-home care alone.

Monthly facials during the winter can dramatically improve skin texture, tone, and overall radiance all season long.

  1. SPF: Non-Negotiable. Even in Winter.

Although the sun may feel weaker in the colder months, UV rays are still present. Wearing a broad-spectrum SPF daily helps prevent UV-induced damage, hyperpigmentation, and premature aging, which are still risks even in winter.

SPF is especially important for those who enjoy outdoor winter sports or spend time outside, as snow can reflect and intensify sunlight.
