Best Advice: Candy Shaw

We recently interviewed Candy Shaw (Codner), head of the Atlanta-based Jamison Shaw Hairdressers and founder of Sunlights Balayage, for an American Salon Artist Stories video—and while doing so, asked for her Best Advice for colorists looking to grow their careers.

Nicknamed “The Balay Lama,” Shaw works behind the chair full-time, and with the aid of up to six assistants sees as many as 35 clients per day. In 1996, she founded Jamison Shaw Advanced Hairdressing Systems,  an advanced training academy that teaches French cutting and the Balayage highlighting technique. In 2014, Shaw launched Sunlights Balayage, Inc.—a new product line specifically formulated for the Balayage highlighting technique. Stay tuned to Americansalon.com for more Best Advice from Shaw and other industry icons!
