For a low monthly fee, members of Society Salon enjoy unlimited blowouts, haircuts and color services.
When childhood friends Sam DiVine and Ashley DeAzevedo opened Society—the first membership salon in Los Angeles—they wanted to make the salon experience accessible and inclusive for clients without limiting them to only getting their hair done on special occasions. Located on trendy Melrose Avenue, Society operates similar to a gym; but in this case, clients actually want to come in. Unlimited monthly services are offered in three packages: The Sophisticate ($80 for men’s haircuts), The Social ($120 for blowouts), and The Standard ($200 for blowouts, cuts and color services). Memberships are for a 12-month contracted period and can be purchased at the salon or online. All clients have to do is pay a one-time enrollment fee equivalent to the cost of one month’s worth of services and they’re all set. À la carte services are available to non-members, but the memberships are so popular (they currently have 300+ members) that stylists are booked solid for two weeks in advance and can’t accommodate walk-ins as readily. Clients also love that they can come in more frequently for color touch-ups, trims and extra blowouts without breaking the bank. It’s a win-win situation for all.
