Meet November's Young American Mandee Tauber

Learning the ropes by hanging out and then working at her mom’s salon, Mandee Tauber quickly blazed a path of her own in the beauty world. Already, the Oribe educator has worked beside heroes like Oribe Canales and Guido Palau, and now has her sights set on taking it all global.

Aha Moment

I’ve been around hair since I was young, and fell in love with it when I started working at my mom’s salon.

Training Days
I trained at Sassoon Academy, which taught me architectural haircutting techniques, including hand and body positioning.

Claim To Fame

I’m known for my work with textured hair. My inspiration comes from music subcultures like grunge, punk and disco, street style, and tribal cultures in Central and South America—they know how to layer! My career highs so far are the Moschino Resort 2019 show, which was the first time I worked side by side Oribe Canales, and working with Guido Palau at fashion week—a dream come true.

Social Butterfly
You can find me on Instagram at @mandeetauber.

Secret Weapons

Oribe’s Maximista Thickening Spray, Star Glow Styling Wax for braiding and Imperméable Anti-Humidity Spray.

My Mentors
My first mentor was my mom, who helped me to understand silhouettes, angles and facial structures. Today, my mentors are Oribe Director of Training & Content Kien Hoang and Oribe Global Ambassador James Pecis, who’ve helped me develop an eye for runway hair and become a better educator.

Words of Wisdom
“If it doesn’t inspire you, don’t worry about it, and move on to the next thing.”—Oribe Canales

Bucket List
I’d love to partner with an agency, and continue working with fashion brands and educating globally.

Bright Future
I really want to travel the world to learn new cultures and teach the craft of hair, especially Dubai.
