This Lancaster Salon is the Perfect Combo of Retro and Modern

While most salons were shutting their doors when COVID hit, Bardot salon was just starting to come to fruition. Co-founders Amanda Scalzo and Lori Linton used their time during quarantine to brainstorm the salon concept and found their dream space, a former barbershop that was a favorite among locals.

“After working in bigger salons for 10-plus years, we both saw a need for something different,” Scalzo says.

“We wanted to create a more personalized experience. Our vision was to create a space that provided high end services with a cozy, comfortable and feel-good vibe,” Linton adds.

Located in historic Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Bardot is filled with charm from the inside out. The salon’s brick exterior and bright pink front door lead clients into a quaint space that feels just like home. Inside, there are shelves lined with R+Co products, bright pops of color and tons of different textures and patterns that transport you into a ‘70s-like escape. “It’s the perfect combination of eclectic, fun and a little badass,” Scalzo says. Plus, there’s always a curated playlist playing throughout the salon that has “a little something for everyone,” she adds.

Now, just about a year into their business, Scalzo and Linton are really finding their groove. “We chose to start small and grow from there, we didn’t want to get in over our heads initially,” Linton says.

“I think in today’s day and age it is so easy to get caught up in comparing yourself with everyone else,” Scalzo adds. “Staying true to ourselves and being confident enough to not be afraid to be different. Breaking the mold of what everyone else is doing is super important to us. We want to be setting trends, not following them.”
