CHI Haircare has dropped a new collection, Rouge de CHI, showcasing multi-faceted, multi-toned hair color creations.
The looks were created and executed by Mego Ayvazian, VP of Education and Shows for CHI's parent company Farouk Systems, along with Mckenzie Lehmann with Lorena Guevara assisting. The makeup artists were Jannette Marin and Lauren Andersen.
Rouge de CHI was created in part to showcase the brand's LG CHI Color Master Factory, a digital color lab with more than 30K color formulations to date. The collection's video presentation is here.
Here are the looks, along with step-by-step instructions on how to achieve them:
High Contrast Reverse Money Piece
The beige blonde base provides the perfect backdrop for the star of the show — the chocolate ‘money piece’. This pop of color, artfully placed to frame the face, adds a touch of warmth and accentuates the facial features.
Reverse Money Piece Color
Formula 1: Mix CHI Bleach & Shine with 20 volume CHI Color Generator using a 1:2 ratio and add 3 pumps of CHI Bond Rebuilder.
Step 1: Mist hair with CHI Bond & Seal.
Step 2: Section hair into 4 quadrants.
Step 3: Begin in the nape and apply lightener in 1” sections. Apply from root the ends staying 1/8th-inch away from the scalp all over to perform a complete bleach out.
Step 4: Process until desired level is achieved.
Step 5: Rinse and shampoo with CHI Royal Treatment Clarifying Shampoo and follow with CHI Royal Treatment Clarifying Treatment and blow dry.
Toner Formulas
Apply to dry hair.
Toner Formula 1: ½ oz 6CM + ½ oz 6G + 2 shots Gold Additive + 1 oz 10 volume formulated with the LG CHI Color Master Factory
Toner Formula 2: 2 oz 11I + 1 oz 11N + 3 shots of Violet + 3 oz 10 volume formulated with the LG CHI Color Master Factory
Step 6: Section the crown, leaving the fringe out.
Step 7: Apply Toner Formula 1 to the fringe and panel above the ear underneath the crown parting.
Toner Formula 3: 2 oz 11I + 1 oz 11N + 3 shots of Violet + 3 oz 10 volume formulated with the LG CHI Color Master Factory
Step 8: Apply Toner Formula 3 to all remaining blonde hair.
Step 9: Process for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Step 10: Shampoo the hair using CHI Royal Treatment Color Gloss Shampoo and follow with CHI Royal Treatment Color Gloss Conditioner
Reverse Money Piece Cut
Step 1: Section hair into 3 sections (middle part with 2 sections and one large section in the back).
Step 2: Comb the hair straight down, cut to your desired length in the center and over direct to the center to leave length on the sides and front.
Artist tip: Start at the center for an even outcome.
Step 3: Continue taking sections until the entire back section has been completed.
Step 4: Once you have reached the top section, cut vertically to create texture, and do this across for the entire top section.
Step 5: Comb the hair straight down and check for inconsistencies and even without elevating the hair.
Step 6: To add more texture, take 1-inch square section from the top, comb straight up and point cut.
Step 7: Comb side sections straight down and tilt the head to the opposite direction without lifting the hair cut the front to desired length.
Step 8: For bang section using triangle method, comb up a vertical section and cut diagonally (towards yourself) and pull each sub section to the middle.
Artist tip: Use CHI Bond & Seal as a cutting agent.
Step 9: Starting at the crEthereal Peachy Greyown, comb all the hair forward. Take a middle subsection and point cut to blend into the bangs. Take sections from the side, comb up, and point cut.
Step 10: Take the front section down and cut to desired length at an angle to leave the front longer.
Step 11: Go back with texturizing shears to add some texture and dimension in the bang area.
Ethereal Peachy Grey
A seamless blend of sumptuous peach with the ethereal charm of light grey in front results in an aesthetic that's both whimsical and elegant.

Formula 1: CHI Bleach & Shine + 20 volume CHI Color Generator using a 1:½ mixing ratio + 3 pumps of CHI Bond Rebuilder
Step 1: Mist hair with CHI Bond & Seal.
Step 2: Begin to apply lightener all over for a complete bleach out to the root.
Step 3: After completing the root application all over, go back and apply lightener to the ends.
Step 4: Process until the desired level is achieved.
Artist tip: Lift hair off the scalp to aerate, which will help with even processing and client comfort. Mist hair with CHI Bond & Seal to slow down processing for areas lifting faster than others.
Ethereal Peachy Grey Toner Formulas
Toner Formula 2: 1 oz Blorange Trend Color + 1 shot Orange Additive + 1 oz 10 volume formulated with the LG CHI Color Master Factory
Toner Formula 3: 1 oz Ice Trend Color + 1 shot of Violet Additive + 1 oz 10 volume formulated with the LG CHI Color Master Factory
Toner Formula 4: 1 ½ oz Baby Pink + 1 shot of Red Additive + 1 oz 10 volume formulated with the LG CHI Color Master Factory
Step 5: Create a section 1-inch from the hairline following the shape of the head.
Step 6: Apply Formula 3 to front section. Use a foil to protect the face, and apply to front left section, stopping at the ear. Cover section with foil.
Step 7: Apply Formula 4 using a 1-inch section behind the first foil.
Step 8: Behind the second foil, start with Formula 2 using a diagonal section. Lightly saturate and comb to opposite side.
Step 9: Apply Formula 4 to section above the ear and back of neck up to occipital and full side (right)
Step 10: Continuing with diagonal sub sections, apply Formula 2 up to the crown.
Step 11: Apply Formula 2 to remaining section (feathering; lightly saturating leaving blonde remnants) comb through to aerate.
Step 12: Process for 30 minutes.
Step 13: Shampoo the hair using CHI Royal Treatment Color Gloss Shampoo and follow with CHI Royal Treatment Color Gloss Conditioner.
Silver Peekaboo Edge
The trendsetting creation seamlessly blends sleek silver blonde with a subtle black peek-a-boo accent, adding a touch of rebellion and intrigue to the classic "silver fox."

Formula 1: CHI Bleach and Shine with 20 volume CHI Color Generator using a 1:1 ½ ratio and add 3 pumps of CHI Royal Treatment Bond Rebuilder.
Step 1: Mist hair with CHI Bond & Seal.
Step 2: Begin applying to root and all remaining dark hair, performing a complete bleach out.
Step 3: During the last 5 minutes, pull through the ends to ensure there is no demarcation line.
Step 4: Rinse and shampoo with CHI Royal Treatment Clarifying Shampoo and follow with CHI Royal Treatment Clarifying Treatment.
Artist tip: Lift the hair off the scalp to make sure the hair aerates and does not cause irritation.
Toner Formulas
Toner Formula 2: ½ oz Ice Steel Trending Color + ½ oz Steel Violet + 1 shot of 1N + 1 oz 10 volume formulated with the LG CHI Color Master Factory
Toner Formula 3: ½ oz 2N + ½ oz 10 volume formulated with the LG CHI Color Master Factory
Step 5: For accent piece, use a diagonal part, take ½” section, and apply Formula 2 in a foil.
Step 6: Apply Toner Formula 1 to the remaining hair.
Artist tip: Keeping the foil in the reversed position it will elevate colors bleeding.
Step 7: Process for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Step 8: Shampoo the hair using CHI Royal Treatment Color Gloss Shampoo and follow with CHI Royal Treatment Color Gloss Conditioner
Silver Peekaboo Edge Cut
Step 1: Comb the top to the side to create a hard part.
Step 2: Begin using a 1 ½” guard on the CHI Clippers, focusing on the nape and around the ears for a medium fade.
Step 3: Clean up around the ears and neckline with CHI Trimmers.
Step 4: Blend fade using scissor over comb technique to blend.
Step 5: Over direct the top to blend into the fade.
Step 6: Texturize the sides and top for better blending. Point cut top for added texture.
Golden Copper Mocha
The golden copper hues infuse hair with a warm, sunlit brilliance, while the chocolate mocha elements add a touch of complexity and richness.

Formula 1: CHI Bleach & Shine with 20 volume CHI Color Generator using a 1: ½ mixing ratio and add 3 pumps of CHI Royal Treatment Bond Rebuilder
Step 1: Mist hair with CHI Bond & Seal.
Step 2: Start by sectioning with 3 sections (middle part into 2 sections and the back) leaving out 2-inches at the nape.
Step 3: Starting with a weaving technique, using 1” sections, backcomb and begin applying lightener staying ½” away from the root feathering closer to the root using a balayage board.
Step 4: Continue until each section is complete.
Step 5: Front fringe area will be two foils back-to-back using a slicing technique with ¼” sections to create a money piece.
Step 6: Process until desired level is achieved.
Step 7: Rinse and shampoo with CHI Royal Treatment Clarifying Shampoo and follow with CHI Royal Treatment Clarifying Treatment and blow dry.
Toner Formula 2: 45g 7CM +15g 7C + 1 shot of Orange Additive + 60g 10 volume formulated with the LG CHI Color Master Factory
Step 8: Starting the back left quadrant, apply from root to midshaft.
Step 9: Continue until all hair is complete leaving out the money piece section.
Step 10: Blend into the ends using CHI detangling brush.
Step 11: Process for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Step 12: Wet the hair and emulsify at the shampoo bowl for a seamless blend.
Step 13: Shampoo the hair using CHI Royal Treatment Color Gloss Shampoo and follow with CHI Royal Treatment Color Gloss Conditioner.
Golden Copper Mocha Cut
Step 1: Section off bang area where the comb leaves the head and take diagonal sections down to create a small triangle.
Step 2: Twist the bangs and point cut below the chin.
Step 3: Take c-shaped sections and slide cut towards you to create face-framing layers.
Step 4: Take a middle section and comb straight up and point cut to texturize.
Artist tip: Stay ½” behind the ear if the client has fine hair.
Step 5: With client facing down, and starting in the middle, cut to desired length without elevating the hair.
Step 6: Take one last c-shaped section to ensure the front is blended into the back sections.
Peachy Blonde Brilliance
From bold pops of pastel to a daring mix of peach and blonde hues, this is the epitome of versatile hair artistry.

Formula 1: CHI Bleach & Shine with 10 volume at root + 3 pumps of CHI Royal Treatment Bond Rebuilder
Formula 2: CHI Bleach & Shine + 30 volume at the ends + 3 pumps of CHI Royal Treatment Bond Rebuilder
Step 1: Mist the hair with CHI Bond & Seal.
Step 2: Section the hair into 4 quadrants.
Step 3: Using slicing technique with ½” sections, start in the front left quadrant, 10 volume on the roots, 30 volume on midsections and ends, complete full head using this technique. Only use foils in front left quad.
Step 4: Bang area will be ½" slices back-to-back foils with Formula 1.
Step 5: On the 3 remaining quadrants, apply Formula 1 to the demarcation line from previous color and apply Formula 2 to the ends melting the two together.
Artist tip: Use your clip to create your subsections instead of foiling comb to save time.
Step 6: Process for 40 minutes.
Step 7: Shampoo with Royal Treatment Clarifying Shampoo for 3-5 minutes. Condition with CHI Royal Treatment Clarifying Treatment.
Color Formula 1 (root area): 1oz 6G + 1 oz 6C + 2 oz 10 volume formulated with the LG CHI Color Master Factory
Color Formula 2 (midshaft and ends): 1 oz 8C + 1 oz 7C 2 oz 30 volume formulated with the LG CHI Color Master Factory
Toner Formula 3 (left blonde section): 1 oz 10I + 1 oz 10W + 1 shot of Violet Additive + 2 oz 10 volume formulated with the LG CHI Color Master Factory
Toner Formula 4 (bang area): ½ Royal Violet ½ oz 10 volume formulated with the LG CHI Color Master Factory
Step 8: Section into 4 quadrants and begin applying Formula 1 to roots excluding bangs and left quad.
Step 9: Melt Formula 2 to midsections and ends.
Step 10: Apply Formula 3 to left quad.
Step 11: Section the bangs into 3 triangle subsections apply Formula 3 to first triangle subsection.
Step 12: Apply Formula 4 to middle subsection of the bang.
Step 13: Apply Formula 3 to the last triangle subsection.
Step 14: Shampoo the hair using CHI Royal Treatment Color Gloss Shampoo and follow with CHI Royal Treatment Color Gloss Conditioner.
Peachy Blonde Brilliance Cut
Long Layers (360 Haircut)
Step 1: Section the top of the head into two quadrants, leaving out the bangs.
Step 2: Create a v-section at the crown area.
Step 3: Set a guideline at the crown.
Step 4: Trim the middle section up to the guideline, employing point cutting at the tips.
Step 5: Perform point cutting on the left side, then the right side.
Step 6: Bring the hair forward and point cut.
Step 7: Finally, take the guide section to the back and point cut.
Bottom Section
Step 8: Take a ½” section from the bottom section near the ear to the guideline and point cut.
Step 9: Proceed to the back section, lifting it 90 degrees and point cutting using the crown guideline.
Curtain Bangs
Step 10: If needed, apply CHI Bond & Seal to add moisture to the hair.
Step 11: Section a small v-shape into the bangs.
Step 12: Twist the v-shape 360 degrees and point cut.
Step 13: Use the left section as a guide, pulling it over to the right section of the bang and point cut.
Step 14: Cut from the inside to the outside to ensure balanced length on each side of the bangs.
Step 15: Create a middle part and slide cut each section to soften the ends of the hair.
Step 16: Lift a 1” section 90 degrees and point cut to add volume to the bangs. Repeat the process on the left and right sides of the bangs.
Step 17: Return to the starting guideline and take a slice from the top right and left sections, cutting at a 90-degree angle with the guideline.
Step 18: Bring a slice from the crown to the bang area, cutting at a 90-degree angle with a point cut.
Step 19: Take ½ slices from the left and right sections, bringing them to the middle guideline at a 180-degree angle and point cut.
Step 20: Adjust the guideline to 90 degrees and use the shears to slide along the end for a seamless cut.
Step 21: Re-check each section back to the guideline and perform a double check cut.
Honey Brown Big Energy

Formula 1: CHI Bleach & Shine 20 volume in the back and 30 in the front with a 1: ½ mixing ratio + 4 pumps of CHI Bond Rebuilder.
Step 1: Mist hair with CHI Bond & Seal.
Step 2: Section hair into 4 quadrants with a side part.
Step 3: Starting in back left quadrant, using a weaving technique (4-5 weaves; also known as medium weaving), feather up to roots, ½ inch sectioning. Mist the hair before each foil to even porosity.
Step 4: Continue the same technique until all 4 quadrants are complete.
Step 5: At the front hairline, using a slicing technique ¼" section 2 foils back-to-back to create a money piece.
Toner Formulas
Toner Formula 2: 1 oz Royal Violet +4 shots Violet Additive +1 oz 10 volume developer formulated with the LG CHI Color Master Factory
Toner Formula 3: 1 oz 10I +1 oz 10A+ 3 shots violet additive +2 oz 10 volume formulated with the LG CHI Color Master Factory
Step 6: Section into 4 quadrants; square section on back of the crown (center) like if you were performing a partial foil, leaving square section out below your upper square section. Apply Formula 2 to the entire bottom section. Work color into the hair for even processing.
Step 7: Apply Formula 2 into root areas of the remaining hair.
Step 8: Apply Formula 3 to the midsections and ends of the hair melting the formulas together, process for 25 minutes.
Step 9: Shampoo the hair using CHI Royal Treatment Color Gloss Shampoo and follow with CHI Royal Treatment Color Gloss Conditioner.
