They've announced it, now it's time to bring it to hair: Pantone's 2024 Color of the Year, Peach Fuzz.
The soft pastel tone "embraces the mind, body, and soul,” says Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute, now in its 25th year announcing the "Color of the Year."
Peach Fuzz was chosen due to the "unusual time we continue to find ourselves living in," since it inspires a sense of peace, Pressman says. "It is a color that is heartfelt, and one that people can draw comfort from.”
Pravana colorists are delighted to give Peach Fuzz a spin. "Peach is trending because it's coming fresh off the Cowboy Copper trend, and it's time for something a little lighter and softer within the same family," says George Blanco, Pravana Global Artistic Mentor.
“Peach is so customizable for everyone," adds Pravana creator Paige Brueck. "You can lean more towards pink peach, orange peach, pastel peach, or muted peach. With all of those options, peach is a great fit for anyone and any skin tone."
Here are their pro tips on how to pull off this warm and fuzzy color:
Princess Peach by George Blanco
To achieve this light yet rich hue, Blanco recommends first lifting to the appropriate level of a 9/10.
"Then, mix Pravana Vivids in Sunstone and Clear-Pastel for the perfect peach over a level 9, or Pravana Vivids Pastels in Too Cute Coral over level 10," he says. "Enhance the shade if necessary by adding more pigment.”
Lightening Formula:
20g Pravana Pure Light Ultra Lightener + 40g PRAVANA 20 Volume Creme Developer
Vivids Formula:
Pravana ChromaSilk Vivids 15g Sunstone + 45g Clear-Dilute

Application:
- Pre-lighten the hair utliizing the Lightening Formula and your favorite Global Blonding technique until you reach a Level 9/10.
- Cleanse the hair thoroughly with Pravana’s Intense Therapy Cleanse.
- Rinse and dry the hair completely.
- Apply the Vivids Formula from roots to ends. Pro Tip: Apply Vivids using the “3-Inch Rule” applying generously to both sides of the hair and reloading your brush every three inches.
- Process 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Rinse with cold water and high water pressure until the water runs clear. And apply PRAVANA’s Color Protect Condition and rinse.

Peaches & Cream by Paige Brueck
Brueck's method for this shimmering shade is “using Pravana Vivids in Magenta, Orange, Yellow, and a drop of Silver to mute it a little bit. You can even add a drop of Green if you want less vibrancy.
"Adding Vivids Clear-Pastel or Clear-Dilute is a great way to customize how dark or light you want your shade of peach to be."
