Hairstylist + Tech Entrepreneur Launches MyBeautyIQ App

MyBeautyIQ, an app that "makes in-person beauty education easily accessible to all licensed industry professionals," is set to launch on Monday, July 17. Through the app one can find a class, teach a class, or host a class — all from the convenience of a phone.

Here is how the company is describing its new product:

MyBeautyIQ empowers all beauty professionals and builds community through its centralized app. Educators can easily list a class, reserve a venue, and sell tickets to a built-in audience. Beauty professionals can seamlessly search and register for classes, and salon owners can rent their space to host classes.

MyBeautyIQ bridges the gap between those wanting to learn, and those wanting to teach.

The app’s unique algorithm allows beauty professionals and educators to track their success in the form of a ‘BeautyIQ’ score, reflecting how many classes they’ve taught or taken.

Experienced Educators: The app provides easy access to register for in-person classes taught by licensed and experienced cosmetology experts. From makeup artists to hairstylists, MyBeautyIQ brings the industry's best right to your fingertips. Educators can watch their BeautyIQ score grow with each class they teach.

Classes for Everyone: From hands-on to look-and-learns, MyBeautyIQ offers users a range of beauty education options. From workshops to advanced masterclasses, the app caters to individuals at every skill level. Users can track their progress on the app, and watch their BeautyIQ go up with each class!

The app's simple and intuitive design allows users to effortlessly navigate available nearby classes, browse details, and register for the class that’s right for them.

  • Educators can easily list a class and reserve a venue if needed.
  • Beauty professionals can seamlessly find and register for nearby classes.
  • Salon owners may rent their space to educators for conducting classes.

Founded by professional hairstylist Korinthia Marsh, the idea for MyBeautyIQ was born out of the COVID pandemic, and Marsh’s realization of a need for more opportunities within the industry to come together, learn from each other, and ask questions. She noticed how many of her peers struggled to find classes easily, leading to feelings of overwhelm and stagnation. That’s when the idea for MyBeautyIQ sparked.

“MyBeautyIQ was created to truly empower all beauty professionals, simplify in-person education, and build community” says Marsh. “After three years of planning, I’m proud to introduce MyBeautyIQ as the go-to app for in-person beauty education experiences.”

MyBeautyIQ will be available for download in the App Store starting July 17.
