If there's one thing to note about Sharon Stone, it's that she can pull off short hair like no one else. Rocking a swept-up hairstyle, the age-defying actress took to the Golden Globes red carpet last weekend in a plunging silhouette gown, proving once and for all that she is an eternal style icon.
Celebrity hairstylist Giannandrea created the tousled and modern crop at Stone's before the show, using five products from MOP’s botanically-based Basil Mint, Lemongrass and C-System collections. Here, he shares how he achieved the look.
STEP 1: Wash hair using MOP's Basil Mint Revitalizing Shampoo; its basil, mint and sage extracts stimulate the scalp and controls excess oil production. Skip conditioner then gently towel dry.
STEP 2: Generously spray MOP's Lemongrass Lift to the entire top-crown area to create a solid foundation from the roots throughout throughout the hair. The pump spray’s key ingredients of lemongrass, gingko biloba and hydrolyzed wheat protein (which provides thermal protection) also gently condition the hair for ease in creating style and volume.
STEP 3: Use hands to distribute MOP's new Lemongrass Volume Whip throughout the whole length to create moveable volume with medium hold, giving each strand a strong grip on volume before blow drying.
STEP 4: Starting at the top, segment hair into small sections. Slowly blow dry using a small round brush with the dryer set at a low speed. Each section must be lifted straight up from the roots then rounded at the ends to achieve a super-voluminous result. The sides and back are brushed backward. The top is tousled and softer-looking while being blown out in an upwards direction.
STEP 5: Once her hair is completely dry, apply a dime-sized amount of MOP’s new Basil Mint Clay for definition and maintaining hold. To apply, use your hands and fingers to evenly distribute the product, piecing out the ends of each section—all the way backwards, on the sides, and upwards on the top while twisting the ends. The result: very cool and effortless elegance with a modern edge.
STEP 6: Use MOP’s C-System Firm Finish Hair Spray primarily on each side for hold, then lightly on the top to set the style.
