Naeemah LaFond is a household name. The Global Artistic Director for Amika for five years, and an experienced session stylist and educator, the Brooklyn native is reaching new heights all the while staying grounded in her roots. Here, she shares a few things you may not know about her.

If you weren’t a hairstylist, what do you think you would be doing?

I think I would be a chef with a cooking show!

What’s the most memorable comment you’ve ever received?

"Because of you, I know I can dream bigger"—This brought me to immediate tears.

You've accomplished so much so far. What’s one thing you have your sights set on accomplishing in your lifetime?

I'd love to win an Oscar for hair dressing.

What piece of advice would you offer to your younger self?

Do what makes you happy not what you think you’re supposed to do. 

You’re constantly on the move with your career. What’s your favorite place you’ve been to?

Iceland. The landscape is like none other and the people are super kind. 

How do you balance an excelling career all while being a mom and a wife?

I focus on creating great memories with my family and always make decisions that are in the best interest of my daughter and my marriage. Money isn’t everything.
