Sharon Blain Puts Hair's Personality on Display in Latest Collection

The blurring of lines between menswear and womenswear was the inspiration behind Sharon Blain’s latest body of work, seen exclusively here. The effortless collection—dubbed Ultra—pairs oversized jackets, men’s shirts accentuated by oversized cuffs and extra-long sleeves, and baggy trousers with coif creations embellished with deconstructed textures, tousled curls and soft movement. “To get the hair just right and complement the fashions, I focused on technique, versatility and simplicity,” says Blain, an acclaimed long-hair artist and Australian hairdressing icon. “Unique setting patterns were the keys to playing up this bold, modern trend,” she says. “The sexy yet feminine hair fused perfectly with the wardrobe styling, underscoring a strong editorial intention.”

When creating the looks seen on top, Sharon Blain relied on unique setting patterns to create strong texture in the hair.

Feminine waves strike the perfect balance with the masculine attire.

Blain pulled cascading, tousled curls in different directions to make a strong hair statement.
