May brings one of the most awaited events in fashion - The Met Gala. The 2023 Met Gala paid homage to Karl Lagerfeld. Known for his iconic designs for esteemed fashion houses such as Chanel, Balmain, Fendi, and his own line; Lagerfeld's influence in the fashion world remains unparalleled. Guests were asked to dress ‘in honor of Karl’ for the occasion themed “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” and they did not disappoint.
Celebrity hairstylist Bryce Scarlett used Nexxus Haircare products on Margot Robbie for the 2023 Met Gala on May 1.
The inspiration: “We took inspiration for the hair from her stunning 90s Chanel archival dress that was originally worn by Cindy Crawford in the spring 1993 couture show. I wanted to give a modern take on the 90s supermodel hair that Cindy had walking down the runway.” – Bryce Scarlett, celebrity hairstylist.
The breakdown:
- Starting with freshly washed hair using Nexxus Unbreakable Care Shampoo and Conditioner, I took some moisture out of the hair with a towel. I then coated the roots with Nexxus. Unbreakable Care Root Lift Thickening Spray and mid-lengths to ends with Nexxus Volumizing Foam Mousse.
- After parting hair into a side part, I blew out the hair using the Dyson Airwrap™ Multi-Styler with the round volumizing brush attachment to give the hair extra volume. I then used the 1.6-inch barrel to create a bouncy curl and set each section with a Velcro roller after, making sure the hair in rollers are positioned away from the face to provide lift and an open face-framing shape.
- When the hair has cooled completely, I then removed each roller starting from bottom, teasing the hair with a tail comb and spraying each backcombed section with Nexxus Maxximum Finishing Mist for lift and hold.
- Using a boar bristle flat brush, I then begin to brush out hair careful not to remove too much of the volume I’ve created with backcombing. Smoothing out ends with the Dyson Airwrap™ Multi-Styler with the soft smoothing brush attachment to polish ends and taming any fly-aways with the Dyson Airwrap™ Multi-Styler Coanda Smoothing Dryer.
- Once I have her hair in the desired shape, I finished with Nexxus Maxximum Finishing Mist.
