OLAPLEX partnered for a second time with iconic fashion designer Jason Wu for his NYFW Fall/Winter 23 show on February 12th. Professional hair stylist and OLAPLEX ambassador, Jimmy Paul created the hair for the show and OLAPLEX products were used to bring Jimmy’s vision to life.
Models walked the runway with 90s-inspired sleek buns with deep side parts that held a balance between masculine and feminine.
“I wanted to create a look of modern individualism, while also being sexy, cinematic and moody. Each model has a look of intense confidence, reflective of a new, edgy mood this season for Jason Wu as compared to last season which was a bit more fragile and softer,” said Jimmy Paul, hair stylist and OLAPLEX ambassador.
Here is how to achieve the look:
- Create a straight, deep side part on the right side of the head.
- Apply a mixture of OLAPLEX No. 6 Bond Smoother and OLAPLEX No. 7 Bonding Oil to hair to create a protected, smooth and shiny base for the bun.
- Pull hair back and secure at the nape of the neck.

- Twist hair together until tight and pin hair into a bun.
