For last week's Country Music Awards, celebrity nail artist Kait Mosh created am ombré manicure for country singer Maren Morris. Here, she each step for creating the look:
STEP 1: Prep nails - sanitize, file, clean cuticles, buff, wipe nail beds with 99% alcohol
STEP 2: Apply a thin coat of OPI Stay Strong GelColor Base Coat, cure in LED light.
STEP 3: Apply a thin coat of OPI GelColor in ‘Samoan Sand,” cure in LED light
STEP 4: Apply a thin coat of OPI GelColor in “Put it in Neutral,” cure in LED light
STEP 5: Apply a thin coat of OPI GelColor in “Funny Bunny” covering 3/4 of nail bed, leave cuticle area unpainted. DO NOT CURE
STEP 6: Using a small eyeshadow brush or old cleanup brush, lightly dab and diffuse lines to blend colors. Cure in LED light.
STEP 7: Apply a thin coat of OPI GelColor in “Snow Day in LA” covering 1/2 of nail bed. DO NOT CURE
STEP 8: Repeat step 6, blending OPI GelColor in “Snow Day in LA” with other colors. Cure in LED light.
STEP 9: Apply a thin coat of OPI GelColor in “Snow Day in LA” covering 1/4 of nail bed. DO NOT CURE
STEP 10: Repeat step 6, blending the last bit of color to finalize the ombré design. Cure in LED light.
STEP 11: Apply a thin coat of OPI Stay Shiny Top Coat, cure in LED light.
STEP 12: Wipe off the sticky layer with 99% alcohol.
STEP 13: Moisturize cuticles with OPI ProSpa Nail + Cuticle Oil.
