CND’s Innovative New Nail Lamp Spawns a Fresh SHELLAC Relaunch

CND is shining a spotlight on its new Visible Light Lamp by pairing its launch with a total refresh of the brand's bestselling SHELLAC lineup.

The new UV/ LED-free curing lamp, available in July, is designed to work with CND's updated SHELLAC portfolio. The level-up features nearly 150 shades plus improved packaging designed for nail artists.

For the relaunch, CND is introducing six retro-inspired SHELLAC shades and bringing back 10 pro favorites. The updated system includes 149 colors, two base coats, and four top coats, along with a larger .42-ounce bottle (up from .25) plus front-facing shade labels.

At the center of the launch is the CND Visible Light Lamp, which uses the brand’s propriety VISIBLE LIGHT TECHNOLOGY in place of traditional UV or LED light. It’s the result of “our history of innovation (combined) with real feedback from the behind the chair,” says CND executive Lynn Cote.

“The CND Visible Light Lamp moves the SHELLAC system away from traditional UV curing and introduces optional red-light technology,” says Cote, the brand’s Global Education Manager and a salon owner.

VISIBLE LIGHT TECHNOLOGY delivers a gentler, but equally effective curing process sans UV or LED, she says.

“Professionals are equipped to achieve more consistent results with unmatched precision and performance,” Cote says. “All designed to elevate the salon experience.”

The brand says its Visible Light Lamp improves curing for opaque coatings and higher-viscosity formulas, while helping reduce wrinkling in more pigmented shades.

The lamp can be purchased through CND's professional portal. Besides its optional red-light feature, it's cordless, rechargeable, has an ergonomic stacking design, and a removable baseplate for pedicures.
