With a new infusion of funding, made-to-order nail polish startup Blank Beauty plans to infiltrate the real world by installing its “Huey” color-mixing technology in more retailers such as Walmart.
The Knoxville-based company has already tested the waters with Huey retail kiosks in three Walmart Supercenters in Tennessee and Arkansas. Blank Beauty plans to expand its real-world presence after a capital investment by nail-care manufacturing giant Kirker Enterprises Inc., industrial robot designer Epson Robots, and NYC venture capital fund Evolution VC Partners.
Blank Beauty uses Kirker pigments and polishes to create its $9 custom nail lacquers, which are American made, vegan, and “13-free” from potentially harmful ingredients.
The finished products garner rave reviews from nail aficionados for quality, longevity, and pigmentation.
Kirker President Trish Malvar calls the investment into Blank Beauty “the logical next step in our partnership.”

The company’s proprietary “Huey” robot is powered by AI to create custom-made nail polish colors. Similar to paint-mixing machines, Huey turns pixels into pigments, translating a color on the customer’s phone into matching colors in the bottle.
Blank Beauty offers a money-back guarantee on exact color matches.
