Happening Now: IBS New York

This weekend kicked off the 100th IBS New York (@IBS_shows) show at the Javits Center in New York City, and the professional beauty world is coming out in full force. With over 150 educational classes, over 500 exhibitors and many awe-inspiring Main Stage performances, there is something for everyone and there’s a tremendous amount of energy in the air. So far, Jenny Strebe (@theconfessionsofahairstylist) taught the art of upstyling and braiding. Nick Arrojo (@arrojonyc) brought his American Wave technique to the crowd. Aveda’s Lupe Voss (@lupevoss) showed off her fashion-forward color blocking. And Ivan Zoot (@clipperguy) highlighted the art and science of blending men’s haircuts. But it’s not over yet. You can still checkout loads of classes, stage shows and the newest products and innovations on the show floor. This Monday, Martin Parsons (@martinparsonsedu) gives his take on “multi-dimensional” cutting. Ted Gibson (@tedgibson) and his artistic team will demonstrate how to make it backstage as an editorial stylist. And Gerard Scarppaci and the Hairbrained team (@hairbrained_official) will host their famed Teach-In sessions. Here’s your chance to be a part of this milestone event for the professional beauty world. Register for IBS New York here.
