Red carpet season is in full swing, and celebrities and fans alike are gearing up for the Golden Globes and Academy Awards ceremonies. While the glamorous gowns and jewelry tend to garner the lion’s share of camera attention, nails got their due at the 2012 Emmy Awards ceremony, where the stars could walk their decked-out digits down a mini red carpet past the E! mani-cam. So what hues are celebs digging right now? Kat Dennings of 2 Broke Girls sported OPI Lincoln Park After Dark at the Emmys, while Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland wore an edgy manicure created using the neutral Essie Miss Fancy Pants for a base with the metallic lilac Nothing Else Metals mixed with glitter on the tips. Meanwhile, singer Rihanna has been seen wearing CND Decadence, a luscious dark berry shade available in both Shellac and Colour formulas. “Today, many celebrities are trying new and unique colors for red carpet events,” says OPI Executive Vice President and Artistic Director Suzi Weiss-Fischmann. “This season is going to have lots of blues—it’s a very important hue.” To see more celebrity favorites, visit our blog at blog.americansalonmag.com. —L.A.

It’s been said that when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Yamaguchi at Four Seasons in Westlake Village, CA, is doing just that—albeit of the alcoholic variety—by offering guests a Limoneira Lemon Cooler Pedicure. The result of a collaboration between leading agribusiness Limoneira Company and celebrity stylist Billy Yamaguchi to promote the many innovative uses of lemons in their Unleash the Power of Lemons marketing campaign, this refreshing and indulgent service utilizes all the ingredients of a lemon cooler cocktail, including vodka, which boasts cleansing properties; lemon oil to nourish cuticles; exfoliating granulated sugar; and local Ventura County farm-grown lemons. The service leaves guests’ feet and spirits in tip-top condition. —B.K.
