Andy Warhol Polaroids Inspire New R+Co Campaign

Inspired by Andy Warhol’s Polaroids, R+Co sought to produce its very own Polaroid shoot by capturing the essence of models’ characters while focusing on hairstyles created by The Collective. Howard McLaren, Garren and Thom Priano kept things simple by using the models own clothes where they could, and played up personal style first and foremost.

"What really got us about Andy Warhol’s Polaroids were how not precious the pictures are, but the flaws and imperfections they encompass.  They are still so amazing and fresh even after 30 years because they rely on character to draw you in.”  – Howard McLaren, Co-founder of R+Co.

Howard McLaren used DALLAS Thickening Spray and two of R+Co's latest products, TWISTER Curl Primer and PINSTRIPE Intense Detangling Spray to replicate Bob Dylan’s signature look.

Debbie Harry was Garren’s muse, but Kat’s added shine and separation gave the style a cool and modern update thanks to FOIL Frizz + Static Control Spray, DALLAS Thickening Spray (used at the roots) and CHIFFON Styling Mousse (used from the mid to end of hair).

Thom Priano turned to the military for his “men on leave” look using MANNEQUIN Styling Paste.
