The 10,000-square-foot salon, whose name means envy in Italian, originally opened in January 2003 and moved to a brand-new facility in October 2009. Another location is expected to open in Italy in 2011, while the salon's old 1,500-square-foot space is currently being converted into Invidia Salon and Spa for Kids, specializing in children's services. According to Patzleiner, the new building was designed based on the principles of luxury and functionality. "The entire space has been allocated to provide our clients and staff with comfort and privacy," Patzleiner says. The facility also features a 2,000-square-foot staff area and a large stock room that houses more than $100,000 in retail and professional products.
Invidia features a warm and inviting atmosphere. Clients enter the salon through a custom 9-foot-high mahogany "castle" door. Inside, deep colors complement the dark walnut-colored furnishings, natural stonework and luxurious espresso-colored wood flooring, while textured walls and arched doorways give the salon a Tuscan-inspired style. The Grand Room features 12 styling stations, crystal chandeliers suspended from a 19-foot lofted ceiling and an oversized stone fireplace.
A menu consisting of salon and spa treatments such as facials, massage, skin rejuvenation, and hair and nail services, ensures that all clients needs are met. Says Patzleiner, "Our clients range from local celebrities to students, all with a common bond—receiving a world-class professional service and having their personal expectations surpassed."
