Blow Pro Products LLC Acquires New Investor and President

Blow Pro Products LLC, pioneer of the blow dry bar concept, announced David Maleh as its president and new investor. Maleh, whose 20 years of experience includes Children’s Apparel Network and the creation of the billing organization, is expected to help Blow grow from its $4 million in sales in 2010 to $15 million in the next two to three years. Maleh will oversee day-to-day operations alongside Blow co-founders Julie Flakstad, Jen Denton and Stuart Sklar. “The founders built a comprehensive foundation consisting of services, product and education and we are exploring several opportunities to scale the platform they have built,” said Maleh.

With Maleh on board, Blow’s goal for 2011 is to double retail distribution of its Blow Pro Hair Care line and is already set to launch into Nordstrom nationwide in July 2011. Blow is looking to expand the New York Blow Dry Bar’s presence countrywide, and is considering airports, hotels and gyms as possible partners. Blow will also establish new corporate headquarters and education facilities in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District opening fall 2011.

“We knew when we created this new category that others would be joining,” said Sklar. “We feel that the more of a presence there is, the more relevant the blow dry bar category is. We are always looking for new and innovative ways to further develop.”
