Crowning Glory

Female warriors of the medieval period were muses for this bold collection.

For the Warrior Princess collection, Editorial Hairstylist/Photographer Jean Sweet and Indiana-based Navii Salon Spa owner Tracey Stokes turned to fighters in ancient folklore and in popular films to inspire the looks seen exclusively on these pages. The result: styles that are both rugged and romantic, incorporating hair crowns, helmet structures and braids. “The look is of strong females who might have had the role of a princess commanding attention in her castle domain, and yet were always ready to join the fighting warriors on the battlefield,” Sweet says. — Corie Hengst >
