Matter of Trust’s Hair Clippings for Oil Spills program has received overwhelming support, with numerous hair donations from salons across the country pouring in. But according to Matt White and Andrew Pietz, founders of hairstylist education website cutoutsidetheline.com, there is more that can be done to help. White and Pietz plan to donate half of the proceeds from sales of Training and Continuing Education videos on their website to the program. “Right now, what Matter of Trust needs is not just hair for the booms, but nylons to stuff with hair and warehouse space to store the booms,” White says. Pietz and White hope to donate $50,000 to the program, the resources needed for 18 months of warehouse rent and more than 18 miles of recyclable nylons.
