Editors Blog: Spring Fresh Mani

It's a tough job testing out everything beauty, but somebody's gotta do it. Follow along as I share the latest and greatest in products, trends and beauty news from my post as Senior Editor of American Salon.

The negative space trend is still going strong, but I found one of the freshest takes on this look right here in my backyard of NYC at Paintbox, a nail studio known for its elevated manicure experience and for turning out sophisticated nail art. “The French and half-moon mani are not new nail trends, but bringing them together in one nail look definitely is,” says Elissa Schell, manicurist at Paintbox. “Right now, I love it in contrasting pastel colors. For the spring, we've switched it up with Moonlight, by having the moon and the tip be two different colors. The original look [Moonstruck, from our Fall/Winter 2014 look book] was done with one color” It’s perfect for the client who usually goes for a classic or simple look to make a bit of a statement and at the same, for those clients who are more adventurous with nail art because of the endless color combinations.
