On October 16 and 17, stylists and salon owners came together for Eufora Global Connection 2016—its biannual educational event that inspires hair professionals with the latest concepts and ideas. This year’s theme “Beauty in Motion” was focused on showcasing how the best in the profession are moving forward with innovation, acceptance of change, and a dedication to continued education.
The event kicked off with an opening artistic runway presentation, and included a tribute video to the late Don Bewley—Eufora’s cofounder. “Global Connection has always been so much more than a hair show,” says cofounder Beth Bewley. “This event was so special to Don as he was always the happiest when in the company of, and serving, stylists and salon owners. This year was especially important because it has been almost a year to the day since Don’s passing, and it was the first time hosting a Global Connection without our beloved Don to lead the event.”
Global Connection 2016 featured five main stage shows: Eufora Tribute Show, Global Inspiration, Eufora HERO for Men, The Art of Color, and Beauty in Motion. Eufora Creative Director Philip Carreon was among the notable keynote speakers, along with numerous breakout sessions that provided hands-on technical training, business skill-building classes, and networking sessions.
The 7th Annual Stylist of the Year Awards Gala honored the amazing showcase of talent who competed in seven unique design categories. The gala featured a Gotham City theme, with the presenters dressed up as various characters including Batman and The Joker. Eufora hosted an after party at Fluxx Nightclub, with all proceeds benefiting the Childhelp Organization.
“While it was a bittersweet event for myself and my children personally, I know it was also emotional for everyone who knew and loved Don,” says Bewley. “So it was particularly important to me that Global Connection this year gave our customers the comfort they needed as well as the inspiration and connection to Eufora they’ve come to know and love. It was also important to honor Don’s passion and contribution to the industry as a celebration of his life. And, finally, it was an opportunity for our customers and our industry to see our strength, growth, and our vision for #euforaforward.”
