Professional haircare giant and manufacturer of the CHI brand, Farouk Systems, hosted a private event on April 4 in collaboration with Dress for Success Houston (DFSH). The inaugural event was held to empower DFSH to take control of their professional development by helping them look and feel their best during job interviews.

Hosted at the Dress for Success headquarters, the event kicked off with a motivating, confidence-building discussion helmed by CHI Ambassadors and reigning Miss Universe, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters and Miss USA Kara McCullough.

"As a hairdresser, I know that helping a woman to look her best can be incredibly empowering," says Farouk Shami, Farouk Systems chairman & founder. "We're thrilled that our brand ambassadors can also join us to further elevate the conversation to one of self-empowerment and positivity."

Attendees were also given the opportunity to participate in individual hairstyling sessions at CHI styling bars. Each woman was gifted with CHI tools and personalized styling product to replicate the looks on their own when preparing for job interviews. After the styling sessions, a photographer was on hand to shoot professional headshots for all participants to leverage on their LinkedIn profiles, providing another empowering tool to further launch their careers.

"While women may land a job after being suited at DFSH, the experience does not end there," says Lauren Levicki Courville, VP of Dress for Success Houston. "Building self-confidence, exposure to successful women and learning professional polish and presence through Farouk will stay with these ladies for life."
