Get The Look: Young Hollywood at the Met Gala

Each year, the Costume Institute Benefit Gala at the Metropolitan Musuem of Art in NYC brings A-listers and style icons together for a night of high fashion and culture to highlight the institute's newest exhibit. Last night's celebration was no exception. Young Hollywood really shined with elegant dresses and hair to match. We asked the creators of some of our favorite styles to share their secrets:

Anne Hathaway Ted Gibson made Anne Hathaway's locks look effortlessly beautiful to keep the focus on her showstopping Valentino gown. "Because her dress was so embellished, it was important to keep her hair simple and chic," Gibson said. He blow-dried her hair using his hair sheet styling product, which tames frizz (important for yesterday's muggy weather!), then used a small barrel curling iron to give her some body, and finished the look with his beautiful hold hairspray.

Emma Watson Emma Watson seemed lightyears away from Hogwarts as she stepped out in a sexy one-shouldered Burberry dress that showed off more than a little leg. Gibson played up the young star's innocent sex appeal with tousled waves. He blow-dried her hair with his build-it blow dry spray and tame it shine lotion, then used a medium-barrel curling iron to create soft waves.

Carey Mulligan One of Hollywood's biggest rising stars, Carey Mulligan is known for her unique, laid-back style. Her purple sleeveless Miu Miu dress at last night's gala fit right in with her usual understated charm and paired perfectly with her tomboyish short 'do. Stylist Thomas Dunkin styled hair with a full fringe crop that approached a short bob. He blow-dried the hair forward and close to the head using a Mason Pearson brush and some Sebastian Professional Potion 9, rolling the fringe under with the brush to fake a full-fringe effect. He pin-curled the hair just in front of the ears and let it set for added wave and texture, then dabbed it with Matte Putty to keep the look modern and close to the head, before finishing with Shaper Fierce for hold.
