“Hollywood color trends set the stage for the rest of the world and defy the misconception that highlights are just for blondes,” says Redken Celebrity Colorist Tracey Cunningham. No one knows this better than she does, as the owner of Mèche Salon in Beverly Hills, CA whose speed dial includes A-listers such as Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz. In a new collection, seen exclusively on these pages, Cunningham teamed up with Redken to recreate her celeb clients’ looks on a diverse group of models to show that anyone can glow in gold. “The models from this shoot prove that highlights are so versatile and flattering on all clients, whether their natural shade is a platinum blonde or a dark brunette,” Cunningham says. “Haircolor is very emotional—people want to be happy and carefree and they want their hair to reflect that. Adding fine highlights to a brunette or sneaking in a few balayage pieces can make the client feel like a different person and add a huge boost of confidence.”
