The Good Earth

After a long winter trapped in bulky socks and boots, tender tootsies need a little salvation. To the rescue come the rejuvenating new Raw Earth SpaPedicure products, which combine nature's finest essential oils with minerals, volcanic clay and natural exfoliants from the earth to soften and smooth rough, dead skin and restore feet to their natural beauty.

Here, company co-founder and style director Jan Arnold explains how to perform a pampering hour-long pedicure service that will put spring in your clients' steps.

[1] Add a level scoop of Raw Earth Foot Clean to a foot bath and agitate the water with the hands, or add 2 to 3 scoops to a motorized whirlpool tub. Let feet soak for 3 to 5 minutes.

[2] After performing the requisite nail, cuticle and callous care on one foot at a time, submerge the foot in the footbath, wetting it up to the knee before removing it from the bath and leaving it wet. Gently massage a dollop of water-activated, self-warming Raw Earth Foot Buff onto the foot and lower leg to slough away dead skin cells, massage for 2 to 3 minutes, rinse foot thoroughly and pat dry. Repeat on other foot.

[3] Rejuvenate the skin by squeezing a dollop of Raw Earth Foot Mask into the palm before smoothing a thin, even coat onto the foot and ankle. Wrap the foot in a warm terry towel so the masque can penetrate for 3 to 5 minutes. Submerge the foot into the foot bath, soaking for 30 seconds to loosen and thoroughly remove the masque. Towel dry foot and leg before repeating the step on other leg.

[4] Squeeze a small dollop of Raw Earth Foot Rub into the hands and massage into the foot and calf, using relaxing petrissage and effleurage massage techniques. Wipe any excess product from the bottom of the foot with a damp towel if necessary; then polish toenails to perfection. –K.D.
