I.A.S to Host Beauty on the Beach Event for Industry Professionals

Independent Academy Sessions (I.A.S.) is putting together a special event that will unite the salon industry’s top educators on stage as they share their expertise, passion, and talent with salon professionals. The Beauty on the Beach event will take place on February 5, 2017 at the Delray Beach Marriott Resort in Delray Beach, FL. The history of hair will also be featured as an integral part of the event, and the lineup will include some of the professional industry’s top talent and educators, including Robert Lobetta—who will be Master of Ceremonies, along with two-time NAHA winner Charlie Price.

“Other than large trade shows, my region has been void of serious education,” says Eric Charles Mokotoff, founder of I.A.S. “While we need manufacturers to create our products, our industry needs to unplug from sales-based content every now and then and get down to “raw,” fundamental, hardcore style education. With the evolution of multiple business models, education is the common thread that binds us together. When we are learning, it doesn’t matter if you work in a suite on your own or if you work as an employee for a company. I want I.A.S. to bring unity through education.”

Mokotoff has been a hair color educator for two decades, sharing knowledge from top color companies during his early career in New York. He is the owner of Hair Studio Artists Salon in Delray Beach, FL and travels nationwide to top hair shows, offering his unique brand of independent education. For the past four years, Mokotoff has been inspiring participants at the American Board of Certified Haircolorists’ annual Summit.

The educator lineup for the Beauty on the Beach event will also include Albie Mulcahy, Editorial Commercial Stylist and Educator from John Sahog Salon in New York; Chad Clark, who has been the MC of IBS New York and impresses audiences nationwide with his multigenerational message of outstanding education; Phil Ring, who is known as the “Pixel Haircolor Illusionist”; and Misael Aponte, internationally renowned master colorist, educator, and International Creative Director for Oligo Professional. More top industry names are being added to the lineup. Upgrading to a VIP ticket will include a hands-on updo class and seminar with Charlie Price on Monday, February 6 at Hair Studio Artists Salon. Tickets are available in limited quantity.

“I’m looking forward to seeing a lifelong dream come alive,” says Mokotoff. “I’ve spent my career on all sides of the industry and platform. I want to give back, I want people to see how important education is and how it can shape their business. I’m looking forward to my hair heroes coming out not for me but for my vision as a whole to inspire our industry. If they think enough of me to support this, then I think even more about them and sharing my passion for what we all do. I want to be able to do this again next year and take it on the road to other states, offering smaller versions of I.A.S. to other academies and distributors.”
