IBS Speaker Spotlight: Jimmy Hilton

We couldn't be more excited that the International Beauty Show New York (IBS New York) is less than a month away. Heading into its 101st year, the show holds the title as the longest-running beauty show in the nation, and anticipates tens of thousands of beauty professionals to convene in New York City for three action-packed days.

One of the show's biggest highlights is the world class education available to attendees, including 100 free classes, pay-to-attend master classes and hands-on workshops. Leading up to the event, we'll be highlighting several speakers that you'll want to add to your list of must-sees. First up, Jimmy Hilton (@jimmyhilton).

Who: Hilton is color specialist who splits his time between Newport Beach's Cristophe Salon and Prive Salón in New York City. A valued member of Ted Gibson's Artistic Team. Hilton has 12 years of industry experience. Starting at the James Albert School of Cosmetology in California, he moved onto become a three-year L'Oréal Professionel educator and sharpened his skills at various prestigious salons across the United States.

What: At this year's International Beauty Show, Hilton and the Ted Gibson Artistic Team will be teaching a three-part balayage class on Sunday, March 4 from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM. Titled Balayage Hair Painting, the class will discuss balayage fundamentals, the dos and donts of lighteners, and products that will set you up for success. The team will demonstrate different strokes and how to work with them on a live model, and Hilton will teach one-on-ones on the floor for a more personal experience.

Why: Hilton says you should attend the class for these five reasons:

  • Learn California-style balayage
  • Learn how balayage can help you with other services, like color correction and tone-on-tone dimension.
  • Fall in love with balayage all over again
  • Be fearless and incorporate balayage with what you're already doing.
  • The class is fun!
